Bird Watching Tower in Hurppu, Virolahti

The location is a piney tip of a cape, overlooking the sea. The tower is great for observing the migration of Arctic birds in May. The tower has one open platform. It was built in 1983.

Driving instructions: From main road 7, turn south to road 351 at the Virojoki junction. Drive for 5.5km and take a left turn to road 3511 at the junction with the sign to “Virolahti kk”. Drive to the Virolahti church. After the church, take a left turn toward the Border Guard Station and Hurppu. Drive for 3.2km, and turn right at the sign that says “Arktisen muuton torni”. Continue for about 600 metres, and you’ll arrive to the parking area by the tower.
